Many people love to cook. Cooking brings out creativity and fun, and most important, food. Those who love to cook know that cooking with gas is different than cooking with electric heat. Gas stoves are a preferred choice among cooks and chefs all over the world.

The technology between the gas stoves and the electric stoves have dramatically increased over the years, and even more so in recent years. Cooks and chefs, however, prefer the gas stove so much more than the electric stove for many reasons.

One reason is that gas stoves seem to be more “heat” accurate. This means that is seems to be quite easier to get a certain food cooking at a required temperature much easier than with an electric one. You can easily control how much heat gets under pot or pan.

Another benefit to the gas stove is that the burners do not get dirty as easily as with an electric stove. The burners on gas stoves are usually sealed so that if there is a spill, then the mess will be quite less. The chances for the burner to become clogged due to a spill, and therefore affecting the flame and temperature are quite decreased.

Although, gas stoves do tend to be more expensive than electric stoves. Usually the difference in their price range is between seventy-five to around two hundred dollars. This can be quite a difference maker for someone in the market for a stove. But, if you are a serious cook or chef, then you will be more than likely eager to pay the extra money for a gas stove.

Obviously, you do not need an electric line for a gas burner stove. If you already have gas heat for your building or home, then tapping into a gas line for your heat source would be very easy. In this case you would not need a gas line tapped into from the street costing you a lot more money than you originally wanted to spend.

Electric stoves typically have coil burners. When food drops on them and/or spilled liquid from a pot falls on them they food or liquid immediately starts to burn causing smoke and odor. It is difficult to try to even get the food off when you turn the power off since the metal coil is still extremely hot and is continuing to burn. With a home gas stove, if you turn the gas off and stop cooking, the heat from the burner dissipates quickly. You can easily remove food or liquid.

Gas stoves are even ideal for those who live in rural areas where there are no natural gas lines. For these people, their only choice does not need to be electric stoves. Most people who live in rural areas heat their homes with propane, which can be used for gas stoves. This makes gas stoves a flexible choice.

Some people are just sentimental. These are the people that do things just because their parents “did it this way” or grew up with it. To them, if mom and dad did is a certain way then they think that is probably the way it is always supposed to be. This holds true for even cooking appliances. Gas stoves can bring back good memories of childhood. Certain smells from foods that were cooking and that tasted really good can make the difference in what type of stove is bought or not.

Some people are afraid of gas cook stoves. The idea of lighting a flame scares them. What must be realized is that gas stoves do have electric sparks to light them and that using a match is outdated.

Gas stoves are a preferred choice among cooks, chefs, and homeowners. They are worth the extra money for the extra benefits they provide.
