Broccoli and cheese is a delicious combination. Hearty and tasty, broccoli is loaded with nutrients like vitamins A and C, calcium, fiber and folic acid. Serve it with cheese to get a healthy dose of calcium and vitamin D in a delicious and nutritious combination.
Basic Oven Roasted Broccoli and Cheese
This basic recipe is ready in just 25 minutes and yields four servings.
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees, then chop 1 pound of broccoli into small pieces. Toss the chopped broccoli in a large mixing bowl with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 cloves of minced garlic, ¼ teaspoon of black pepper and ½ teaspoon of kosher salt.
Set it aside, then spread 1/3 cup of bread crumbs on a metal cake pan. Toast the bread crumbs in the oven for two minutes, then toss the bread crumbs into the bowl with the broccoli mixture. Stir to combine, then pour the whole mixture into the pan. Roast it in the oven for ten minutes or until the broccoli is tender. Remove the pan from the oven, top the broccoli with ¼ cup of finely grated cheddar or parmesan cheese and enjoy immediately.
Baked Broccoli and Cheese Casserole
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, then melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan. Add ½ cup of chopped onions and cook for about 4 minutes or until the onions are translucent. Add 3 tablespoons of flour to the saucepan and stir until the onions are coated. Cook the mixture for two minutes, then remove from the stove and whisk in 1 ½ cups of hot milk.
Return the saucepan to the heat and simmer the mixture while stirring in 1 ½ cups of grated cheddar cheese. Add 2 chopped heads of broccoli, then pour into a casserole dish coated lightly with butter.
Bake for about 20 minutes or until the casserole is lightly browned and bubbly.

Broccoli and Cheese Quiche
Flavorful, filling and easy to make, this quiche is delicious for lunch, dinner or brunch.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees, then bake a pre-made pie crust for about ten minutes until it turns slightly brown on the bottom. While the crust is cooling, boil ten ounces of frozen broccoli until tender. Drain well, then mix 1 cup of milk with 3 whole eggs, 1 teaspoon of flour, 2 tablespoons of melted margarine, 1 teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of pepper in a large bowl. Sprinkle ¾ cups of shredded cheddar cheese on the bottom of the pie crust, then add the cooked broccoli to the crust. To pthe broccoli with 8 ounces of thinly-sliced mushrooms, then pour the egg and milk mixture over the veggies.
Bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees and serve warm.
