Bread Maker Pecan Rolls

These rolls are one of my families favorite breakfast treats. They are simple to make and are very delicious. We love to make a big batch of these for the holidays. You can substitute different nuts if you do not like pecans, or use cinnamon instead for classic cinnamon rolls. I am using the recipe for  dinner rolls and set my machine for the dough cycle.

Dough Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 4 1/2 tsp. vegetable oil
  • 3 1/4 bread flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp. instant yeast
  • 2 tbl. spoons melted butter

Follow your breadmaker’s instructions for dough making.

  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 honey
  • pinch of salt

Roll dough out to 1/2 thickness on plastic wrap or parchment paper. This will make the dough easier to roll later. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Heat the pecans on medium high for two-three minutes to toast them. Add brown sugar honey and salt and continue cooking until sugar is dissolved. Allow mixture to cool for about ten minutes. When mixture has cooled, spread evenly over the surface of the rolled dough. Using the paper or plastic to lift and help roll start at one end pulling the plastic or paper away as you roll. When you have the roll to the end firmly tighten the roll by squeezing. Cut the roll into 2″ long pieces and place flat side down on a baking sheet. Bake the rolls for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and dough is done.

Make sure you make plenty of these, they will not last long!
